Finally another picture!
I know this is supposed to be a photoblog and not a tweet blog. I have just been lazy the last couple of months. It has been summer after all. I can also throw out the same old excuse that I have not been inspired. But that would be BS. So here is a pic I took while I was walking around Boston. I had just bought a Canon 50D and I was trying it out. I saw this bird looking thing on this post/column outside the Boston Public Library. I just thought it was cool. I was impressed with the way the pics on the 50D look so bright even at low ISO. It is decieving though becasue it was overcast. Just cuz there is clouds up there does not mean the sun is not shining above it. Light, what a marvelous and mysterious thing.
So just wanted to post a pic even thought it is old and not really that good. I think it is funny how the cab looks like it is coming our of the post. Talk about timing… Another funny story about timing.
If I can find the picture I am refering to I will scan it and post it. Some friends and I went to Las Vegas for vacation. Most of us had just turned 21 and one of them turned 21 the day we got there. But that is not the point. We went to Hoover Dam one day and I had my old Rebel, 35mm of course. I do not think they had digital SLRs back then (12 years ago). So I am sure most people know that they have these 2 clocks with the time in Nevada and Arizona. So I thought it would be cool to take a pic in front of them. I composed the shot and we stood on one side of the street with the clocks behind us. You could see both and I set my Rebel on the ledge and set the timer. So cool right! We got home and developed the pictures (yes, developed)! I remembered about the pic and wanted to see how it came out. We went thru the pics several times and I could not find it. I did find one of all of us in front of a tour bus! I told my Jeannette that I did not remember taking a picture in front of a tour bus.
I am sure you can guess the explanation. When we took the picture there just so happened to be a tour bus driving over the damn and was right behind us at exactly the right time. Yeah it is pretty funny, but I wanted that picture. Maybe we will all go back and try it again.
Carlos
